The 1866 Action Fund is proud to endorse Reverend Miniard Culpepper for Boston City Council District 7 in the final election on Tuesday, November 4th. Rev. Culpepper is the experienced leader that District 7 and the City of Boston deserve — and together we can help him win.
At 1866, we carry forward a legacy. Our name honors the year Black legislators were first sworn into the Massachusetts House of Representatives — the first Black political representation in the United States. It also reminds us that Black people have been leaders in democracy for centuries. Since our founding in 2023, we’ve endorsed and helped elect Black leaders across Massachusetts, from School Committee to State Senate, by investing in advertising, grassroots mobilization, and voter engagement.
Now, with your support, we are ready to do the same for Rev. Culpepper. In the September 9th preliminary election, he advanced from a crowded field of eleven candidates and is now in the final runoff. Culpepper finished second only 58 votes out of first. The general election will be a very close, competitive race.
Your contribution today will help us make the case to residents of Roxbury, Dorchester, the South End and the Fenway that Rev. Culpepper is the right leader to address housing affordability, public safety, economic development, public health, support for working families and the elderly, and educating the next generation. With Election Day approaching fast, your support will fund digital ads and grassroots mobilization to get out the vote in a historically low-turnout election.
Will you make a donation today to help elect Rev. Miniard Culpepper the next District 7 Boston City Councilor?
