‘The Leadership We Need’
The 1866 Action Fund is proud to endorse Reverend Miniard Culpepper, Esq. for District 7 Boston
City Council in the final election on Tuesday, November 4th. Reverend Culpepper is the experienced
leader residents of Roxbury, Dorchester, the South End, and Fenway deserve — and together we can
help him win. Reverend Culpepper advanced from a competitive field of eleven candidates in
September’s preliminary election, finishing just 58 votes shy of first place, and is now in the final runoff
election on Tuesday, November 4th.
At 1866, we carry forward a legacy — our name honors the year Black legislators were first sworn in to
serve in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, the first Black political representation in the U.S.
Since our founding in 2023, we’ve helped elect Black leaders across Massachusetts by investing in
advertising, grassroots mobilization, and voter engagement.
Now we’re making history again as the first Super PAC to launch a targeted digital advertising campaign
for a Boston City Council district race. Our new 30-second ad, “The Leadership We Need,” showcases
Reverend Culpepper’s experience and commitment to our community. This innovative campaign will
reach thousands of voters on social media, smart phones, streaming platforms, and television ahead of
the November 4th runoff.
This race will be close, and every dollar counts. Your contribution today will ensure our ad reaches
every corner of District 7 and encourages residents to vote for Reverend Miniard Culpepper on Tuesday,
November 4th.
